The Still Nest

The Still Nest is led by a recently bereaved mother, who couldn't find a 'nest of support' during a very traumatic loss. When parents find out they are expecting or when they plan to conceive, they begin to build nests. For some, it begins with the items for the nursery, the baby bag, the car seat and for others, it's the hope and dreams for their children and their potentially growing families. Sadly, for many, these nests remain or become empty. Still.

This project aims to weave a 'nest of support’ to displace the empty nest bereaved parents are left with. A place for bereaved parents, particularly from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, to be seen, heard, and understood.
